Yasuhisa Arai, Head of Honda's F1 project has warned the Formula One media that he will not be commenting on McLaren's 2015 driver line-up when he appears at Friday's FIA team principal's press conference in Suzuka.

He has confirmed that he will just be discussing the manufacturer's preparations for their return to Formula One next season as a 'works' partner to McLaren. Earlier today the company released the first image of the new F1 power unit and will be giving further details of the unit over the course of the Japanese Grand Prix weekend.

Speaking to Sky Sports HQ, Mr Arai commented:

'We are constantly talking about which drivers we would like to see and whilst McLaren is here in Japan it is only natural that we organise some meetings with McLaren, But I don’t think we will be discussing the topic of drivers given that nothing is decided.'

McLaren's last period with Honda power from 1988 - 1992 which resulted in four Constructors championship. This is something that Honda are hoping to repeat in the future.

Mr Arai also believes that the team will see an upturn in performance from next season onwards having endured a difficult 2014 campaign which sees the Woking based outfit in 6th place in the Constructors championship with five race's remaining this season.
