Mercedes on target to take victory in the constructors championship in Sochi

(Mercedes AMG F1 Team)

The Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team head into tomorrow's Russian Grand Prix in Sochi having locked out the front row with Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg. The Silver Arrows need to score just 25 points and hope that Red Bull score less then 18 points.

The Brackley based outfit are currently on 522 points, 190 ahead of reigning world champions Infiniti Red Bull Racing with a maximum of 172 points remaining in from the final four race's of the season which includes the double points season finale in Abu Dhabi at the end of November.

Lewis Hamilton will heads into this weekend's race with a ten point advantage over Nico Rosberg which if he was to win tomorrow would put him on 291 points while if Rosberg finishes in second he will go to Austin on 274 points. However if Nico Rosberg takes his first win the German Grand Prix in July, he would be on 181 points.

If Lewis Hamilton were to finish in second place in the race tomorrow behind Nico Rosberg he would go to Austin on 284 points so as a result he would retain his ten point advantage over Nico Rosberg with three race's remaining.
