Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen finished the second Free Practice session in Suzuka Japan today in sixth place just ahead of team mate Fernando Alonso despite was has been described as a 'technical glitch', The Finn set his best time of 1m 36.529s completing just 19 laps during the second 90 minute session.

Raikkonen finished the first session in fifth place just behind fellow Finn Valtteri Bottas in his Williams Martini Racing Team's FW36. Speaking about his day the Finn commented:

'In the first practice session, on the hard tyres, we concentrated on testing different set-ups aimed at qualifying and the race, then in the afternoon, we made some changes which brought a partial improvement to the handling of the car.'

He went on to say:

'But because of the yellow flags and a technical glitch, I only managed to complete just one good run on the medium tyres. Now we have a full night's work ahead of us in order to find a set-up that will allow us to get the car to suit any sort of condition.'

Raikkonen has admitted that he expects the Suzuka circuit to be one of the most demanding this season. He has had mixed results here during his Formula One career however he had one of his best race's to date here in 2005 with McLaren where he came from 17th on grid to take victory just ahead of Renault's Giancarlo Fisichella.

Ferrari will be hoping that this weekend, Alonso and Raikkonen will be able to put in a strong points scoring finish as they continue to battle the Williams Martini Racing Team for third place in the Constructors championship with just five race's remaining this season.
