Renault saw three of the team partners finish in the top ten following today's Japanese Grand Prix at the Suzuka circuit. Infiniti Red Bull Racing's Sebastian Vettel secured his fourth podium finish of the season as the German finished the race in third place behind the Mercedes duo of Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg on the same weekend that the four time world champion announced that he will leave the team at the end of this season.
Daniel Ricciardo finished today's race in fourth place just ahead of McLaren's Jenson Button. It was a good result for Toro Rosso's Jean Eric Vergne as the Frenchman finished the race in 9th place having started the race from 20th place on the grid.
Daniil Kvyat who was announced as Sebastian Vettel's replacement at Infiniti Red Bull Racing for 2015 was left disappointed as he finished the race in eleventh place.
The Renault powered Lotus F1 Team finished the race in 15th place (Romain Grosjean) and 16th place (Pastor Maldonado).
The Caterham F1 Team's Marcus Ericsson finished the race in 17th place while his team mate Kamui Kobayashi finished his home race in 19th place. Speaking following today's race, Renault Sport F1's Head of Track Operations Remi Taffin stated:
'First and foremost our thoughts are with Jules Bianchi, his family and his team following the incident at the end of the race.
It was a difficult race for everyone with the evolving track conditions and every team did their best with the information they had at the time. We fought hard all race to extract the maximum from the Power Units across the field. Calculating fuel loads, energy management and settings is extremely difficult in these circumstances, so three cars in the points, with a podium, is a strong result.
We still have a way to go to be at the front on pace, but congratulations to Red Bull for getting a podium and fourth position, and to Toro Rosso. JEV again did extremely well to recover from his engine penalty and score points. It shows that, while the penalties are far from ideal, they are by no means impossible to overcome with the Power Unit we have now.
Lotus and Caterham also had solid weekends so we can go to Russia confident. The track looks like it will suit us so there are a lot of positive items on the job list after this race.'
