Borland swaps NASCAR for F1

The Haas F1 Team have confirmed the signing of veteran NASCAR engineer and crew chief Matt Borland who moves across from Stewart Haas Racing to become vice-president of special projects at the Haas F1 Team.

Speaking in an interview with Motorsport.com, Haas F1 Team founder and Chief Executive Officer Gene Haas stated:

'Formula One is certainly a lot more technical and I think Borland is looking for the challenge,'

The news comes as the Haas F1 Team released a video of the production process of their brand new Formula One facility which is located across the road from the Stewart Haas NASCAR Racing Team.

Haas has confirmed that he intends to ask members of his NASCAR team if they would be interested in getting involved with his Formula One project who will make their debut in 2016.
