McLaren Mercedes Jenson Button took to Twitter this morning to thank fans saying: 'Morning! I've been reading your messages & must say I'm overwhelmed with the support...'
The Woking based team are set to confirm their 2015 driver line up next week with Fernando Alonso set to be confirmed as one of McLaren Honda's drivers next season after the Spaniard agreed what has been described as a multi-year contract.
Although no confirmation will come from the team until next week it is expected that Alonso will replace Jenson Button as Kevin Magnussen's team mate at McLaren next season.
Button followed up his tweet by saying:
'Hopefully soon I'll be able to give you more info on my future.' #excitingtimes #JB22 #teamButton'
Former Formula One rival and good friend Mark Webber who is currently driving for Porsche in the World Endurance Championship to to Twitter himself to urge Button to join him in the WEC Tweeting:
'Matey, just sign that sportscar contract and get on with it. Be megato have you with/against us next year.'
