(Sahara Force India Formula One Team)
The future of the Sahara Force India Formula One team is safe according team principal and managing director Dr Vijay Mallya. Reports earlier this season suggested that the financial situation at the Silverstone based outfit meant that they could be the next team in danger of following Caterham and Marussia in administration.
Mallya has however quashed suggestions that the teams future is under threat saying:
'Every business has current assets and current liabilities. That's the way business runs globally, big or small.
Mallya went on to say:
'The finances of Force India have been speculated upon for a long time. When our partners the Sahara Group got into a spot of trouble, there was even more speculation, but here we are and racing strong.'
The team have had one of their strongest season's since entering Formula One and are on course to score more points in a season then ever before.
Although the teams performances have dropped off recently, Nico Hulkenberg lead the Brazilian Grand Prix last time out for the team and will remain with the team for next season as will Sergio Perez with Mallya confirming in Brazil that he had taken up the option on the Mexican for next season although Perez has said that there remains some things to be sorted out before an announcement is made.
Mallya stated that the speculation surrounding his teams future has to to stop as it helps nobody. The team boss confirmed:
'The bottom line is we're OK. Our new car is almost ready - and we are here and we are racing.'
