Australian Grand Prix race organisers confirm new deal

On the eve of the opening race of the 2014 Formula One season in Melbourne, Australia the race organisers have confirmed that a contract to extend the Grand Prix beyond its current deal has been drawn up and is waiting to be signed off on by the Victorian State government.
 
Albert Park has hosted the Australian Grand Prix since 1996 and is a favourite amongst drivers and fans alike.
 
The chairman of the Australian Grand Prix Corporation Ron Walker told local radio: 'There is a dela on the table and it's up to the (Victorian state) cabinet sub committee to recommend to the cabinet whatever they want to recommend'.
 
'We can only do are best and we will see what happens'.
 
Walker has confirmed that he has not put a timeframe on the new agreement as they still have next years race so they are in no rush.
