(Bernard Asset - Renault Sport F1)

Pirelli have confirmed the four tyre compounds that they will take to the first four Grand Prix of the season.

Team's will have the Soft and Medium tyres available to them for the race's in Australia, Bahrain and China while the Medium and Hard compound tyres will be taken to Malaysia. The new 2014 spec tyres are more durable then last year's rubber and Pirelli are confident that the sport will not have a repeat of what happened in Silverstone last year.

Pirelli have also confirmed that monitoring the tyres during testing there have been less marbles on the thread and as a result of this it will not compromise car performance. Pirelli Motorsport director Paul Hembrey is confident that team's will be able formulate interesting strategies that will enhance the excitement of the races in 2014.
