Williams looking forward to Malaysia

(Williams Martini Racing)

The Williams Martini Racing team head to Malaysia this weekend off the back of an extremely positive result at the opening Grand Prix of the season in Melbourne last week which saw Valtteri Bottas finishing the race in 5th place claiming more points in one race then the Grove based team did during the entire season last year.

While Valtteri Bottas recovered from an early incident during the race to claim a fantastic result, team mate Felipe Massa was extremely unlucky to retire the race following an accident that was not the Brazilian's fault.

Bottas has stated that he is 'very very excited by the next race in Malaysia' it will give the team the opportunity to show the rest of the grid how fast the car is.

Before the season started, deputy team principal Claire Williams confirmed that the teams goal for 2014 is to score points in every race of the year. Valtteri Bottas believes that the team are yet to peak and is looking forward to Malaysia as 'it is more like a proper race track rather than special street circuit'

There has been a sense of confidence at the Frove based squad since Winter testing and rightly so with the arrival of Felipe Massa, Rob Smedley, Mercedes and Martini the team have every reason to feel positive for 2014. The weather in Malaysia is always unpredictable at the Sepang circuit so it will be interesting to see how the team get on.

Bottas believes that the team need to improve in certain areas including qualifying and then they will be able to unlock the true potential of the new car.
