Ferrari driver's Kimi Raikkonen and Fernando Alonso believe that finishing this weekend's Australian GrandPrix, the opening race of the 2014 season on the podium is a realistic and achievable target for the Italian team.

Speaking ahead of the race this weekend Raikkonen said that it is difficult to say where the team are in terms of their rivals but that the aim of course is to win the race on Sunday and if that is not possible the Finn is certain that the team can challenge for the podium.

Raikkonen heads to Melbourne having been the last driver to have won at the event when he took a surprise victory for the Lotus F1 Team last year with Fernando Alonso coming home in second place. He said that it is impossible to say where the team are at this present moment due to there being so many unknowns this season.

Despite not having the best final day's of winter testing, the Finn believes that they got most of what they wanted to do done and says that the team head into the weekend and will just do their very best.

Fernando Alonso agreed with his team mate by saying 'We need to see where we are and how competitive we are.'

The Spaniard went on to say 'We can not be too pessimistic or too optimistic, because it is probably a blind race for everyone in terms of performance'.

Fernando Alonso believes that the team need to concentrate 100 percent of on the race as if a mistake is made it could mean the end of the race for them. He also believes that the outcome of the first race will not define how the season will pan out as the teams are still learning about the new cars and the rate of development is extremely quick.

Ferrari like most of the teams on the grid have brought a major upgrade package for the F14-T.
