(Francois Flamand DPPI for Renault Sport F1)

The new owners of the Caterham F1 Team have signed off on an upgrade package for the CT05 which tey hope will help the team to close the gap to their rivals. The Leafield based outfit have struggled so far this season and since entering Formula One in 2010 the outfit have failed to score a championship point.

At the Monaco Grand Prix earlier this season, Caterham's main rivals, the Marussia F1 Team scored two point's when Jules Bianchi finished the race in 9th place, as a result Caterham are one of only two teams yet to score points this season. New team boss Christijan Albers has revealed that he wants upgrades on the car as soon as possible.

The team have targeted the Belgian Grand Prix for their upgrade package to ready by, this gives them until the end of August to get the new package on the car.

Formula One heads to Hockenheim next weekend for the German Grand Prix before a quick turnaround of a week for the Hungarian Grand Prix before the sport goes on its annual Summer break which will give the team a number of extra weeks to get their cars ready with the update.
