On the eve of their home Grand Prix at the Hockenheimring in Germany the Mercedes AMG F1 Team have confirmed that current championship leader Nico Rosberg has committed his Formula One future to the Silver Arrows by signing what has been described as a new multi year contract extension with the Brackley based outfit.
Speaking about the deal Mercedes Motorsport boss Toto Wolff said:
'Nico has been a part of the Silver Arrows project since day one and he has a stake in the development of the team since 2010, since his performances in 2014 Nico has demonstrated to the outside world what we knew already in the team'.
Rosberg commented:
'I a very proud to drive the Formula One Silver Arrow of the modern era, I am proud to represent the best car brand around the world and looking forward to the next years together when we'll keep pushing to win even more race's and hopefully more championships.'
Rosberg will be hoping to celebrate his contract extension with the team with his first Formula One win on home soil this weekend at the Hockenheimring circuit.
