New Caterham adviser Colin Kolles has stated that he wants to ensure the teams survival before looking at moving the outfit up the grid. In the build up to the British Grand at Silverstone last weekend it was announced that team owner Tony Fernandes had sold the Leafield based outfit to a Swiss/Middle Eastern consortium which has installed former F1 driver Christijan Albers as team boss.
Speaking to Reuters over the course of the British Grand Prix weekend Kolles said that he would prefer to 200 safe jobs at the team rather then 300 lost jobs.
Kolles also confirmed that changes will be made to the team as it cannot continue in its current situation and Kolles said that the team are aware of this and understand the issues that face the team.
The new owners want to secure the long term future of the team and that is exactly what they are doing. Kolles revealed that so far he is happy with the progress being made by the team.
Caterham have struggled so far this season and are one of only two teams who have yet to score points this season.
