London was brought to life today by the sights, sounds and indeed the smell of a Formula One car as the Artillery Gardens was turned into a performance arena for the day as the Lotus F1 Team brought their 2012 Formula One car to the capital where their young driver Marlon Stockinger wowed the crowd by performing burnout's and doughnuts to everyone's delight.
It was not just Formula One that was on display but there was also a charity cricket match in which Damon Hiill took part in. The event took place annually in the build up to the British Grand Prix and the event on Thursday marked 40 years since the last event in which Damon's father Graham took part.
Not only was there a 2012 Lotus F1 car on display but there was also a display of a rang of classic Formula One car's spanning a generation.

Sir Stirling Moss, was also in attendance at the event joined by his wife Suzy. He gave an absolutely fascinating account of his career in motor racing. It was fantastic to hear about his experience of racing in Formula in an era when there were no seat belts in Formula One.
