The Williams Martini Racing Team secured their 299 Formula One podium on Sunday at the British Grand Prix in Silverstone when Valtteri Bottas secured his second successive podium finish following his third place finish at the Red Bull Ring in Austria two weeks ago. The Finn went one better in Silverstone, finishing the race in second place behind race winner Lewis Hamilton.

Deputy team principal Claire Williams was delighted with Bottas' performance and when asked after the race if the team could win at the next race in Germany she would not make any predictions but admitted that the anything is possible.

Bottas said after Sunday's race that the team knew they had a quick car but didn't realize how quick the car was. The Finn did a fantastic job making his way through the field from 14th place on the grid and finished the race in second place.

As a result of his second podium, Bottas has now moved ahead of reigning world champion Sebastian Vettel into 5th place in the Driver's championship on 73 point's.

The William Martini Racing Team have now moved into fourth place in the Constructor's championship on 103 point's just three behind Ferrari who are in third place. The Grove based outfit have shown that they have an extremely fast car and appear to be going from strength to strength.

The team also made history over the weekend when their test and development driver Susie Wolff became the first female driver in 22 year's to take part in an official Grand Prix session. The Scot will be back behind the wheel of the FW36 next time out at the German Grand Prix in Hockenheim.

The team have continued their trend of scoring points in ever Grand Prix of the season so far and has certainly been helped by their new engine partnership with Mercedes Benz.
