Force India can continue to improve their on track performances in 2015

The Sahara Force India Formula One Team can continue to get stronger this season following their impressive 2014 according to Nico Hulkenberg.

The German, who returned to the Silverstone based outfit last season following a single season at the Sauber F1 Team had an extremely strong year where he finished the year in 9th place in the championship having scored 96 points. 

Hulkenberg’s team mate, Sergio Perez finished the season in 10th place in the championship on 59 points and collected the outfit’s first podium finish since the 2009 Belgian Grand Prix.

The team confirmed at the end of last year that they will use Toyota’s wind-tunnel in Cologne, Germany this year to help with the development of the 2015 car, the VJM08 which will be launched in Mexico City on Wednesday January 21. The launch will be streamed live on the team’s website.

Hulkenberg is hopeful that the team can have a good and efficient winter testing period after falling behind a slightly towards the end of the 2014 Formula One season. The team were involved in an incredibly intense battle with the McLaren Formula One team with the Woking based outfit winning the battle for fifth place in the championship.

The Sahara Force India Formula One team finished the season 26 points behind McLaren in 2014. In relation to the new Mercedes power unit, that will once again be in the back of the VJM08 will ‘have a lot in their pocket’ in relation to the performance of the car.

Hulkenberg has a busy year ahead as he will compete in the 6 hours of Spa WEC race in April before contesting the 2015 LeMans 24 Hours with the Porsche 919 Hybrid LMP1 car alongside his Formula One commitments.
