The new Ferrari SF15-T is expected to suit Kimi Raikkonen
better than last year’s car, according to Scuderia Ferrari Technical Director
James Allison.
Raikkonen who returned to Ferrari last season replacing
Felipe Massa as Fernando Alonso’s team mate endured an extremely difficult
season and was comprehensively beaten by the Spaniard throughout the season.
In 2015 however, Alonso has returned to McLaren and
Raikkonen has been joined at Maranello by his friend and four time world champion
Sebastian Vettel.
Speaking at the launch of the new car on Friday, Allison who
was in charge of this year’s Ferrari project, stated:
‘We will only know for sure once we are running on
the track, but I hope that the SF-15T will be much more comfortable for him
with both a stronger front end in mid corner and more support from the rear
under braking,’
Raikkonen will drive the
new car on the third and fourth day of the opening test in Jerez while
Sebastian Vettel will drive the car tomorrow (Sunday) and on Monday.
