The organisers of the Russian Grand Prix at the Sochi circuit have confirmed that this year’s event will not be a night race.

In a statement Sergey Vorobyer, the head of the Sochi circuit confirmed that the start time of this year’s race will be 2PM.

The Sochi circuit made its debut on the Formula One calendar in 2014, a race which ended in a Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team 1-2 finish with Lewis Hamilton taking victory.

Daniil Kvyat who made his Formula One debut in 2014, started his home Grand Prix at the Sochi circuit from fifth place on the grid for the Scuderia Toro Rosso Formula One team.

The Russian driver went on to finish the race in 14th place, one lap down. Kvyat will drive for the Infiniti Red Bull Racing team this season as Sebastian Vettel has made the move to Scuderia Ferrari alongside Kimi Raikkonen.
