Infiniti Red Bull Racing’s Daniel Ricciardo believes that his team can bounce back following a difficult 2014 Formula One campaign.

The Milton Keynes based outfit finished in second place in the Constructors championship, 296 points behind the Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team. The outfit who went into 2014 on the back of winning four world championships in a row scored just three victories. Daniel Ricciardo won in Canada, Hungary and Belgium.

The Australian finished the season in third place in the championship ahead of now ex-team mate Sebastian Vettel who has joined Scuderia Ferrari for the 2015 Formula One season.

Ricciardo has faith that the team can close the gap as they have the scope to make steps forward following an extremely difficult 2014 winter testing period. Ricciardo is confident that if their testing programme for the winter this year goes uninterrupted then they will be competitive this season.

Ricciardo stated that last year when they missed a large proportion of testing last season they went to Australia for the opening race of the season and finished in second place before being disqualified.

This year, Ricciardo makes the step up to lead driver following the departure of Sebastian Vettel as Scuderia Toro Rosso’s Daniil Kvyat joins the team following an impressive debut season in 2014.
