Force India delay track debut of the VJM08

(Sahara Force India Formula One Team)

The Sahara Force India Formula One Team have confirmed that they will delay the debut of the VJM08.

The car was due to run at the opening winter of 2015 at the Jerez circuit in Spain from February 1-4 however Andrew Green, the Silverstone based outfit’s technical director stated at the end of last season that the team may opt to run their 2014 car at the opening test in Jerez, due to the three week gap between the first Jerez test and the second one in Barcelona.

It would now appear that the team who will unveil their 2015 livery in Mexico tomorrow will indeed delay running their new car until the opening Barcelona test.

Green also revealed that the team had delayed finalising 2015 aerodynamic designs due to the fact that they had discovered a problem with the 2014 specification towards the end of last season. Green also confirmed that the Jerez test is more of a shakedown exercise as Pirelli will not be providing the teams with their 2015 race tyre's until the first Barcelona test.

The team have yet to confirm who will run on each of the four days of the opening test in Jerez which gets underway at the end of next week.
