The Ferrari Formula One team were forced to end the day of the Silverstone in season test early today following a problem with the F14-T. Test and Development driver Pedro Dela Rosa was behind the wheel of the car today when it suffered a water leak with the cooling system in the car.

Dela Rosa confirmed that up until the issue with the car the test programme had all been going 'fantastically well'.

It was the first time that Dela Rosa had driven the 2014 car and as such was the first time he had experienced the 1.6 litre V6 turbocharged engine. The Spaniard said:

'It was pretty good I would say. The fact that I jumped in to the car and immediately in a new car with a new regulation - because we should never forget that 2014 is very new, I am experienced but with the V8s and this is a completely new Formula for me as well - I was straight on there feeling very comfortable doing competitive lap times straight away,'

The Spaniard completed 49 laps and was happy with the work that he completed with the team and with Pirelli. The team all found that there was good correlation between what was going on at the track to what Fernando Alonso was experiencing in the teams simulator in Maranello today as he carried out cross data checks.

Jules Bianchi will be in the F14-T after the team opted to rest Kimi Raikkonen to allow the Fin enough time to recover from his heavy crash at the British Grand Prix last weekend.
