Artillery Gardens roared to life with the sound of the Lotus E20 on Thursday as Marlon Stockinger but the the 2012 Lotus F1 car through its paces at a demonstration event in the heart of the capital. Along with the car doing donuts and burnouts, there were also an number of cars on display from many different era's of Formula One history.
Racing legend Sir Stirling Moss was in attendance at the event and took part in a Q and A session. This year marks the fortieth anniversary since the last time Formula One driver's took part in an exhibition Cricket match before the 1974 British Grand Prix. That year saw James Hunt, Niki Lauda and Graham Hill to name but a few.
This year saw Tom Hunt, James' son take part in the match along with Damon Hill. The crowd were absolutely delighted to be able to get up so close to the Lotus F1 car. There was also the unique opportunity to speak to a number of the Lotus F1 Team mechanics. Below is a link to video from the event.
