The Ferrari Formula One team have reportedly signed ten new senior engineering staff in a bid to climb their way back to the top of Formula One, according to media reports in Italy today. The reports suggest that the Maranello based outfit have managed to attract the signatures of three senior engineers from Mercedes, three aerodynamicists from reigning world champions Infiniti Red Bull Racing along with a Simulation expert.
Ferrari's last world driver's title came in 2007 when Kimi Raikkonen won the championship. The teams last Constructor's title came in 2008 when Felipe Massa narrowly missed out on the championship.
Over the weekend, Kimi Raikkonen was asked about his future in Formula One with the Finn suggesting that he could possibly retire from the sport when his current contract with the Italian team expires at the end of next season.
Ferrari team boss Marco Mattiacci has played down suggestions that Raikkonen will retire at the end of next season saying that the he has not broached the subject with the Italian team.
The Finn has endured a difficult return to Ferrari this season following two successful season's with the Lotus F1 Team from 2012-2013.
Mattiacci has also stated that there are big changes coming to the team for the 2015 F1 season however he refused to go into detail but said that the team will announce the changes in the coming months.
Mattiacci has confirmed however that the team will retain both Kimi Raikkonen and Fernando Alonso for the 2015 season.
