McLaren-Honda to contest 2015 engine development

(McLaren-Honda)

McLaren and their 2015 engine partner Honda have questioned the FIA’s ruling that allows their rivals to develop their power unit throughout this season, and does not allow the Japanese manufacturer to develop their unit.

Honda are reportedly ‘annoyed’ by the fact that they will not be allowed to develop their power unit this year.

The FIA have stated that in the interest of fairness, Honda must adhere to the power unit regulations as set out ahead of the introduction of the 1.6 litre V6 turbo charged power units in 2014.

As the issue is currently in the hands of the FIA, McLaren have refused to comment on the situation.

Renault, Mercedes and Ferrari have refused to comment on the issue facing Honda and McLaren.
