Williams certain Bottas will remain at the team long term

(Williams Martini Racing Team)

Williams Martini Racing deputy Team Principal Claire Williams believes that Valtteri Bottas is ‘100% committed’ to the Grove based outfit.

The Finn will remain with the team this season alongside Felipe Massa following an incredible 2014 Formula One season. Last season, Bottas scored six podium finishes on his way to finishing the season in fourth place in the championship.

Bottas has been linked with a potential move to the Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team in 2016 should the team fail to retain Lewis Hamilton as Executive Director (Business) Toto Wolff stated that Bottas would be considered if their main target Fernando Alonso does not join the team next year.

Williams however sees no reason for Bottas to leave the team as long as they remain competitive. Williams Martini Racing finished last season in third place in the Constructors championship.

The team have one of the best driver pairings in Formula One according to Claire Williams. Speaking about Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa, Williams stated:

‘They are fully committed and do their bit to help the team move forward. They’ve really helped turn this team around.’
