BREAKING: Lotus switch to Mercedes power units next season

It has just been confirmed this morning that the Lotus F1 Team will switch to a supply of Mercedes power units for the 2015 season. The Enstone outfit have had a long standing engine partnership with French engine manufacturer Renault which dates back to the outfit's day's as Benetton. 

The Lotus F1 Team have struggled so far this season compared to where they were this time last season. Mercedes had looked for assurances from the team in relation to the financial side of the outfit and now that they that assurance the team will replace McLaren as a Mercedes partner next season as the Woking based outfit will switch to Honda power next season.

No details have been given about the new partnership but having the Mercedes power unit should help the team move forward.
