McLaren Honda’s Fernando Alonso will remain in hospital
until such time that doctor’s feel it is necessary following his accident in
testing on Sunday.
Alonso’s manager Luis Garcia Abad stated that the Spaniard
is making a good recovery but that the medical staff want to make sure that
everything is fine with him. He will remain in hospital for an undetermined
period as doctors continue to monitor him.
Abad confirmed that the impact with the wall going down to
Turn 4 was very hard. When asked if Alonso will drive this week, Abad stated
that the most important tests that the medical staff are conducting are the
most important right now and that the tests on track are just that. They want
to make sure that Alonso is ok for the opening race.
It is unlikely therefore that we will see the Spaniard in
the MP4-30 this week however the team have yet to decide what their plans are
for the test which gets underway on Thursday.
