Scuderia Ferrari have confirmed that former designer Rory
Byrne has returned to the Italian team ahead of the start of the 2015 Formula
One season.
Ferrari Team Principal Maurizio Arrivabene confirmed the
news during a media briefing during testing in Barcelona over the weekend.
Byrne played an instrumental role in the Maranello based outfit’s success with
Michael Schumacher and technical director Ross Brawn during the early 2000’s.
Arrivabene confirmed that Byrne will work alongside chief designer
Simone Resta as a mentor as well as looking after some of the design of the
SF15-T.
Byrne’s return to the team is part of a wider range of
restructuring procedures within the team which have occurred over the winter as
the team hope to return to top of Formula One.
