McLaren Honda’s Jenson Button believes that the new MP4-30
feels good despite the various issues that have plagued the team so far in
winter testing.
Button was left frustrated on the opening day of the
Barcelona test after he was forced to sit out some of the session due to an
issue with the MGU-K on the new Honda power unit. Despite this however on
Friday team mate Fernando Alonso was able to rack up 59 laps for the team
gathering valuable data.
Button revealed that he has yet to really push the new car
yet but has been happy every time he gets in to the MP4-30.
He feels that the driveability of the car has improved and
that the Honda engine has come a long way from the opening test in Jerez. The
2009 world champion is extremely positive about the way the car is working and
he believes that once the team have got past the issues they have experienced
that they will be in a position to develop the car and move it forward.
