Palmer to make Lotus F1 Team track debut on Friday

The Lotus F1 Team have confirmed that their test and reserve driver, 2014 GP2 champion Jolyon Palmer will make his Formula One debut with the new E23 on Friday in Barcelona.

The Englishman joins race drivers Romain Grosjean and Pastor Maldonado who will also be in action for the Enstone outfit on what is set to be an extremely busy schedule for the team. Pastor Maldonado gets the action underway taking to the track in the E23 on the opening day before handing over to Palmer on Friday.

Palmer took to Twitter to say:

I will have my first day driving for @Lotus_F1Team on Friday... Can't wait! Heading to Barcelona now. #F1

Maldonado will be back in the car on Saturday before team mate Romain Grosjean completes the test for the team on Sunday.
