(Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team)

Organisers of the Malaysian Grand Prix are optimistic that they can reach agreement with Formula One commercial rights holder Bernie Ecclestone to extend their contract to host the Malaysian Grand Prix for three more years.

The Sepang circuit in Kuala Lumpur is entering its final year of its current contract with Bernie Ecclestone having first held a Grand Prix in 1999.

Chairman of the Sepang International Circuit Tan Sri Mokhzani Tun Dr Mahathir said that negotiations are ongoing with the commercial rights holder to come up with agreeable price for the hosting rights for the Malaysian Grand Prix.

They are currently unsure of how long any new agreement would be but that they are hopeful of at least a three year contract. The circuit are just hopeful that the talks progress smoothly. The 2015 Malaysian Grand Prix will take place on March 29.
