Scuderia Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen ended his opening
Barcelona test with the second fastest time of the day. The Finn completed 90
laps in the SF15-T with a best time of 1m 24.584s ending up just behind
Infiniti Red Bull Racing’s Daniel Ricciardo.
Raikkonen completed 164 laps over the last two days of track
action despite a number of issues with the new car and believes that it is
certainly a step forward compared to last years’ car. Speaking following the
session Raikkonen stated:
'Today was not ideal, we had some small issues which prevented us from running as much as we wanted, but still we managed to do other stuff, try things and learn. We are going in the right direction in all areas and the team did a good job over the winter. Of course, racing is a different story from testing, but so far it has been good. The team bosses have managed to put the right people in the right places. It’s still early days, but everybody seems to enjoy it more.'
Sebastian Vettel will drive the SF15-T for the remaining two days of the test having arrived at the Barcelona Circuit de Catalunya on Friday.
