The FIA have called on the team’s to fit their cars with
high speed cameras from the 2016 season onwards in order to aid any
investigations into on track accidents.
The idea comes following Fernando Alonso’s accident in his
McLaren MP4-30 on the final day of last weeks’ winter test at the Barcelona
Circuit de Catalunya.
The cameras will be fitted to every car at all Grand Prix
and test events from next season and teams will have to ensure that all of
their camera equipment is in working order. The FIA have also stated that the
cameras must be fitted in accordance with their technical regulations.
