Scuderia Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen made his first on track appearance of 2015 as the Finn took over driving the new SF15-T from team mate Sebastian Vettel on day of winter testing in Jerez, Spain.

The Finn completed 92 laps and ended a trouble free day in second place with a fastest time of 1m 21.750s which was completed on a set of the Pirelli Medium tyre. Today’s running was affected by rain which meant that the Pirelli Intermediate tyre was also used during the day. Following his day Raikkonen declared himself happy with the new car saying:

It’s too early to talk about results, but we are going in the right direction. There is still a great deal to do, however this has been a positive start, very different to a year ago. A good job has been done on the car with a lot of improvements. Even though these are only early days for testing, we have done plenty of laps, after Sebastian got through two good days of work.’

The Finn will be back in the car for the final day of the test on Wednesday. Speaking about the latest day of on track action for the SF15-T, Scuderia Ferrari Technical Director James Allison stated:

We had a better day in terms of reliability and with Kimi we managed a good number of tests. It was interesting to get his feedback on the handling characteristics of the SF15-T, when compared to last year’s car.’
