Scuderia Ferrari have confirmed that tyre performance expert Hirohide Hamashima will leave the Maranello based outfit at the end of the year.

The former director of Bridgestone’s tyre development joined Ferrari in 2012 and oversaw the Formula One team’s tyre and chassis integration.

The news of Mr Hamashima’s imminent departure from the team comes just one after new team boss Maurizio Arrivabene confirmed sweeping changes within the management structure of the Formula One team which has seen the departure of Pat Fry and Nikolas Tombazis.

The news comes amid unconfirmed reports from Sports Bild that world champion Lewis Hamilton’s Performance Engineer, Jock Clear has left the Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team to join Ferrari.
