Ferrari rebuilding for 2015

Scuderia Ferrari are expecting a difficult season in 2015 according to new Chairman Sergio Marchionne.

The Italian outfit head into the 2015 Formula One season with a new driver as four time world champion Sebastian Vettel joins from Infiniti Red Bull Racing while Jock Clear joins the team from Mercedes AMG PETRONAS where he was Performance Engineer to Lewis Hamilton. Clear takes over from Pat Fry who left Ferrari last week.

Speaking at a press conference before Christmas, Marchionne stated that he would not talk about 2014 as it ‘was a year to forget.’ The Italian has described 2015 as a year of reconstruction for the team.

Marchionne stated that he does not believe that Sebastian Vettel is naïve and he believes that the German’s gamble to join the team is theirs to. The aim of the team is unlock their potential once again and to return to the top of Formula One.

Scuderia Ferrari Team Principal Maurizio Arrivabene stated that Vettel brings experience of winning to the team and that he is extremely enthusiastic about bringing the team success. 

Arrivabene is also happy that Vettel gets on well with his new team mate Kimi Raikkonen but stated that he wants to ensure that they don’t get on too well as a drivers main opponent is and should be his team mate.
