Former Scuderia Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso believes that
the Italian team will be strong in 2015. The Spaniard was confirmed as Jenson
Button’s McLaren Honda team from next season onwards having left the Maranello
based outfit after five season with the team.
Alonso commented by saying:
‘From the outside now it will be difficult to
judge how Ferrari is doing, but they have the talented people, they have the
resources, they have the motivation from everybody in the team, so in time they
will win.’
The Spaniard returns to McLaren for the first time since
2007 when he partnered Lewis Hamilton and finished the season in third place in
the champion equal on points with the English driver.
During his first period
with the Woking based outfit, Alonso won three Grand Prix taking 12 podium
finishes. Alonso took victory at the Malaysian, European and Italian Grand
Prix.
Alonso believes that Ferrari will be favourite's next season with
the budget and the technical personnel that the team have.
Four time Formula One world champion Sebastian Vettel joins
the team as Kimi Raikkonen’s team mate following six seasons with the Milton
Keynes based outfit.
