Pirelli Motorsport have released the following statistics form the last two Formula One season's.

The Italian manufacturer saw the biggest regulation changes ahead of the 2014 season since they entered the sport in 2011 having replaced Bridgestone as Formula One’s sole tyre supplier.

In terms of the number of pit-stop’s made in 2014, they were similar to the 2013 season with an average of 2-3 stops per race weekend. Speaking about the changes for the 2014 Formula One season, Pirelli Motorsport Director Paul Hembery stated:

'After three years of making tyres that feature deliberate degradation, in accordance with our brief, this year’s revolutionary new rules with turbocharging and increased torque prompted the need for more consistent and predictable tyres, leading to the same average number of pit stops per race (2 or 3).

Once more, Pirelli was able to fulfill the brief and help enhance the racing.
