McLaren-Honda Racing Director Eric Boullier believes that
the return of Peter Pedromou to the Woking based outfit, is the ‘last
piece of the puzzle’ in the reshuffle of the team as they prepare to
embark on a new era in their Formula One history.
Pedromou returns to the team having spent eight years with
Infiniti Red Bull Racing as Chief Aerodymanicist. The Englishman returned to Woking as Chief
Engineer in September and is credited with helping the team to finish the 2014
season in a strong position. McLaren finished the 2014 Formula One season in
the championship.
It was an extremely difficult season for the team, who
secured just two podium finishes coming at the opening race of the season, the
Australian Grand Prix in Albert Park Melbourne.
Next McLaren-Honda will be looking for reliability and not
performance and the team feel that the new Honda power unit can be competitive.
The Woking based outfit and a new driver with Fernando Alonso returning to the
team following five seasons with Ferrari and a stint at Renault. Boullier has stated that the team need to be on top of
everything that they do at all times.
