F1 2014 Awards

The 2014 Formula One season proved to be one of the most exciting in recent years. Mercedes were the team to beat with Lewis Hamilton winning his second Formula One world championship. The sport introduced 1.6 litre V6 turbo charged power units. The new era of Formula One proved to be a great success.

With the sport set for big changes in 2015, with brand new driver line up’s for all but four of the teams, the following is list of Paddock Eye’s awards for the 2015 Formula One season.

Team of the Year – Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team

Driver of the Year – Valtteri Bottas

Most Improved team of the Year – Williams Martini Racing

Rookie of the Year – Kevin Magnussen

Car of the Year – Mercedes W05

Drive of the Year – Jules Bianchi’s performance at the Monaco Grand Prix earning his and the Marussia F1 Team’s first ever Formula One points.

Race of the Year – The championship deciding Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Team Principal of the Year – Caterham F1’s acting team principal Finbarr O’Connell for successfully bringing the team back from the brink to raise the funds needed to get the team to the season finale in Abu Dhabi allowing them to race at Yas Marina.
