It has been confirmed that 2014 GP2 champion Jolyon Palmer will take part in the 2014 Race Of Champions which takes place from December 13 - 14 in Barbados.
The 23 year old has had an incredible few weeks after winning the GP2 championship with DAMS the Englishman made his Formula One debut as he drove the Sahara Force India F1 Team's VJM07 at the Formula One season ending Abu Dhabi test at the Yas Marina circuit.
Palmer drove the car on the opening day of the test and set the fourth fastest time of the day with a 1m 44.516s. He completed 37 laps.
Palmer's addition to the Race Of Champions line-up comes just days after both BBC F1 commentator and former F1 driver David Coulthard and Williams Martini Racing Team test driver Susie Wolff were confirmed at the at the race representing Team Scotland.
Palmer who is potentially in the running for a test driver role with the Sahara Force India Formula One team for next season claimed four victories on his way to the GP2 Championship title winning the championship by 47 points with McLaren-Honda you driver Stoffel Vandoorne finishing the season in second place.
As a result of winning the championship Palmer can not compete in GP2 next season and is hopeful that he can get onto the F1 ladder.
