Walsh rules himself out as next Chairman of CVC, Formula One's parent company

(Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team)

Former Diageo boss Paul Walsh has ruled himself out of the running for taking over from Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone.

It had been believed that Walsh had been lined up as a replacement for Ecclestone or a least to being put a in a position by CVC Capital Partners where Mr Ecclestone would have had to answer to him.
Mr Ecclestone stated last week that he has recommended that senior counsel to the Formula One group,

Sacha Woodward-Hall would be the ideal candidate as his replacement when the time comes for him to leave Formula One. The 84 year old has stated that he wants to remain in Formula One for as long as he can.

Walsh had reported been lined up as CVC Chairman Peter Brabeck-Letmathe, the former Nestle CEO who is expected to step down due to ill health.
