Former Ferrari Formula One team principal Stefano Domenicali has taken up a position with the FIA. The Italian who left Ferrari in April will replace former Toro Rosso team principal and F1 driver Gerhard Berger as head of the FIA's single-seater commission.
Domenicali will dove-tail his new role with the FIA with his responsibilities at the Volkswagen Audi Group where he is currently undertaking a Formula One feasibility study to see whether or not the German car manufacturer will enter the sport. The MSA's John Ryan will act a deputy to Domenicali in the role.
