Infiniti Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner
believes that the 2015 Formula One season will be fantastic. Despite losing out
to the Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team in the race for the 2014 Formula One
championship, Horner believes that 2014 was the Milton Keynes based outfits best
season.
The competition between his two drivers Sebastian Vettel and
Daniel Ricciardo was fantastic to watch and Horner believes that the fact that
Daniel Ricciardo beat him in 2014 was a factor in the German’s decision to
leave the team and join Kimi Raikkonen at Ferrari from 2015.
Williams Martini Racing, Mercedes, Lotus and Force India are
the only teams to retain the same driver line up as 2014 for next season and
Horner believes that this will prove to be a fantastic prospect for the sport
and the fans alike. The fact that those four teams have unchanged pairings for
2015 could prove to be beneficial to them for next season.
Out of those teams however, Lotus have a huge change as
along with McLaren they will change power unit supplier.
The Enstone outfit
will use a supply of Mercedes power units. However despite the change the team have
yet to conduct mileage with the new engine unlike the McLaren Honda team who
conducted a filming day last month with the new Honda power unit in the back of
their interim MP4-29H chassis.
Horner is also excited by the prospect of Daniil Kvyat
making the step up to Infiniti Red Bull Racing next season to partner Daniel
Ricciardo, who has been a revelation for the team this year.
