Infiniti Red Bull Racing’s Daniil Kvyat is destined for a big future in Formula One, according to his former Scuderia Toro Rosso team boss Franz Tost.

Kvyat makes the step up to the four time world champions in 2015, having replaced Sebastian Vettel who has joined Kimi Raikkonen at Scuderia Ferrari after signing a three year contract with the Italian team. Kvyat had a fantastic debut season in Formula One in 2014, scoring 8 points on his way to 15th place in the championship.

Tost said that the Russian has done an excellent job in his opening season. He believes that Kvyat’s motivation to learn will be to him being successful with Infiniti Red Bull Racing where he will join former Toro Rosso driver Daniel Ricciardo at the Milton Keynes based outfit.

Kvyat scored a hat trick of ninth place finishes which was his best result of the season. He finished ninth in his very first race at the Australian Grand Prix in March, asewell as at the British and Belgian Grand Prix.

Tost also revealed that it was an extremely tough decision for the team to let Jean Eric Vergne go from the team.

Scuderia Toro Rosso will field a brand new line-up in 2015 with Formula One newcomers Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz Jr making their Formula One race debuts at the season opening Australian Grand Prix.
