Hamilton caps a great year by winning the 2014 BBC Sports Personality of the Year

Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team's 2014 world champion Lewis Hamilton capped an incredible year by taking home the 2014 BBC Sports Personality of the year.

The double world champion beat world number one Golfer Rory Mcilroy to the coveted trophy. Hamilton won the championship by 67 points from team mate Nico Rosberg, claiming eleven victories including five victories in a row from Italy to the United States.

A speechless Lewis Hamilton thanked his fans for the incredible support. He also thanked his family for the support and sacrifices that they made to enable him to go racing when he was young.

It gaps a great day for Formula One as former Grand Prix driver David Coulthard won the 2014 Race of Champions, Champion of Champions in Barbados earlier today.
