McLaren driver decision delay labelled embarrassing

(McLaren-Honda)

McLaren-Honda's delay in announcing their 2015 Formula One driver line-up has been described as 'embarrassing' by a team insider.

The insider said that it is disrespectful to Button if he is not offered a new contract as he was unable to bow out of Formula One in the way a world champion should. The employee at the Woking based outfit also stated that the indecisiveness of the Ron Dennis has cost respect from members of the team.

The McLaren team member also stated that if Magnussen is not selected for one of the seats he will effectively have been 'tossed on the scrapheap. The Dane was part of the Young Driver Programme at McLaren and came up through the ranks in junior motorsport categories that saw him replace Sergio Perez at the team as Jenson Button's team mate this season.
