Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean could have teamed up once again in 2015 according to Grosjean. Speaking to rmc sport in France Grosjean confirmed that discussions were held with Scuderia Ferrari about the possibility of the Frenchman reuniting with Kimi Raikkonen as Fernando Alonso's replacement at the team however the team opted instead to sign Sebastian Vettel from Red Bull.
Grosjean and Raikkonen were teams at the Lotus F1 Team from 2012-2013 having returned to Formula One with the Enstone outfit ahead of 2012.
On Thursday 9th October it was announced that after 19 seasons together the Enstone outfit would be parting company with Renault in favour of a supply of Mercedes power units which the team hope will enable them to be more competitive in 2015 following an extremely tough 2014 season which saw the team finish in eighth place in the Constructors championship on ten points.
When it became clear that the Lotus F1 Team would be powered by Mercedes in 2015 Romain Grosjean decided to stay with the outfit as on Wednesday 19th November just prior to the final race of the 2014 season the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at the Yas Marina circuit the Lotus F1 Team confirmed that they had extended Romain Grosjean's contract for the 2015 season and will partner Pastor Maldonado for a second successive season.
