Further delays to the new Force India

The Sahara Force India Formula One Team are set to run their 2014 car, the VJM07 at the next test in Barcelona in two weeks’ time according to deputy Team Principal Robert Fernley.

The Silverstone based outfit are not in Jerez this week for the opening test of the winter as the team felt that the time would be better spent further developing the VJM08. The outfit have already confirmed that they will be at the opening Grand Prix of the season in Melbourne, Australia which takes place from March 13 – 15.

Fernley confirmed that the team will run the new 2015 spec Pirelli tyre’s with their 2014 car. The delay in the debut of the new car has been put down to the fact that the team have fallen behind in the preparing the new car for the test.

The team have already categorically denied that they are in financial difficulty amid recent speculation that the team are insolvent.

Fernley revealed that the team are awaiting delivery from suppliers and that the build process for this year’s car is underway and that they are waiting on 2015 car components from various suppliers to be delivered.

The VJM08 will make its track debut at the final winter test which takes place at the Circuit Du Catalunya in Barcelona from February 26 – March 1.
